Jumbo mortgages are generally loan amounts greater than $806,500 (for 2025). The term "non-conforming" is also commonly used for these higher loan amounts.
These loan types essentially work the same way as conventional mortgages. Rates however, usually run higher to off-set higher lender/investor risks.
